These factors go beyond the u sual effect on poverty but relatively more than important is that fact that it essentially curbs growth (Meier and Rauch, 2000).Although Brazils economy is apparently doing soundly with high incomes and a decline in the unemployment rates however these figures are not good determinants of its general well being (Baer, 2001). Historical figures of income distribution suggest that a high percentage of the income goes to the pockets of the rich while the poor only get a small share of the income. Coupled with the increasing population, economic disparity is increasing among the people. Moreover, the migration from rural to urban areas of Brazil has created severe health and sanitary problems.
